Director's Statement
Margaret Mustion’s statement about her film “Bombshell” reflects its deeply personal roots and broader universal appeal. The film is inspired by the dynamic and ever-evolving relationship she experienced with her sister during their upbringing. Mustion expresses her desire for the film to resonate with a wide audience, particularly those who can identify with the film’s characters and their struggles.
She specifically addresses two groups of people: “the Erins,” who have felt that life might be easier if they were in someone else’s shoes, and “the Mayas,” who are silently striving to stay afloat amidst their challenges. Mustion’s hope is that the film fosters a deeper understanding between individuals like Erin and Maya, reflecting the complexities of their experiences and emotions.
