Sanjay Arora

Sanjay Arora, a distinguished Indian filmmaker and actor renowned for his significant contributions to cinema, is based in the USA, born and brought up in Kurukshetra, India, Arora’s early passion for filmmaking and acting paved the way for his remarkable career. His educational journey took him from the Senior Model School in Kurukshetra to earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering at D C R University of Science and Technology, followed by a Postgraduate degree in Export Marketing and Management from Kurukshetra University.
In 1999, he relocated to Detroit, Michigan, thriving as a Software Engineer while nurturing his unwavering love for acting and filmmaking. Arora honed his artistic skills at the New York Film Academy in New York City and the India Today Acting School in Toronto under the esteemed guidance of Roshan Taneja one of the prominent teachers to the greatest actors of India.

Arora’s filmmaking journey began with “Butterfly Wings,” a poignant short film he financed during his career in the USA. This film, portraying the life of a physically challenged woman, garnered acclaim at film festivals in India and internationally.

In addition to “Butterfly Wings,” Arora directed remarkable films such as “Once Again” (Phir vehi), drawing inspiration from Buddha’s teachings, “Expression,” exploring non-verbal communication in love, and “Chase,” delving into the pursuit of happiness against the vibrant backdrop of New York. Sanjay Arora’s dedication to storytelling and creativity has been celebrated at renowned international festivals, including the Delhi International Film Festival, ICE Short Film Festival in Pune, and the World Music & Independent Film Festival (WMIFF) 2012.

His multifaceted career as a filmmaker and actor continues to leave a lasting impact on the world of cinema, and his role as a jury member at the FFTG Awards Film Festival 2023 underscores his esteemed status in the industry.
