Director's Statement

I came across an article about a young woman from a big family who had moved away to live on her own just before lockdown began earlier this year. Having never felt so utterly alone before, she began to worry about what would happen if she had an accident and couldn’t reach out to anyone. I recognised those thoughts from when I first moved away from home on my own. As I mentioned the article to friends, it turns out many more of us have considered this scenario than we would care to admit.
