FFTG Awards Film Fest FAQ
General Information
FFTG Awards Film Fest® is an IMDb-qualifying, fully digital international film fest founded in 2020. It is designed to recognize films and filmmakers in a way that continues beyond a single event, where the work remains visible, discoverable, and remembered.
FFTG is built as a digital-first festival. The entire experience, from selection to showcase, is designed for global accessibility and long-term presence. No physical venues. No in-person events.
Yes. FFTG Awards Film Fest® is listed on IMDb’s official events database as an IMDb-qualifying festival. It is listed on FilmFreeway with a consistent five-star rating across six editions, and has received films from 45+ countries. The festival was recognized with the LUXlife Global Digital Film Festival of the Year award in 2025.
All submissions are handled exclusively through FilmFreeway (filmfreeway.com/FFTGAwards). Categories, deadlines, and requirements are available there. No submissions are accepted by email or any other channel.
Submissions and Eligibility
Yes. A film can be considered across multiple relevant categories, depending on how you choose to position it. Each additional category requires a separate submission and fee.
Yes. FFTG welcomes submissions from filmmakers worldwide. No restrictions by nationality, geography, or origin.
Yes. English subtitles or English dubbing are required for evaluation. Films without English subtitles or dubbing will be disqualified. Subtitles must be hardcoded into the screener, not submitted as a separate file.
Yes. The film should represent the intended final direction. The submitted version is the version that will be evaluated. No updated cuts can be substituted after submission.
Yes. FFTG does not operate on premiere requirements. Films that have screened at other festivals, been broadcast on television, or screened at physical venues remain eligible. The film is the focus, not its history.
Films freely and publicly available on the internet are not eligible. Features previously self-distributed online are not eligible for Feature categories.
If your film screens publicly during the FFTG festival window, it may be considered an online premiere by other festivals that track digital exhibition. If you are managing a submission strategy across multiple festivals with premiere requirements, plan accordingly. Official Selection and public screening are two separate events at FFTG. Being selected does not automatically mean your film will screen publicly. The opt-out option is available.
Yes. Screenplays are evaluated separately with their own recognition path through the Screenplay35 category. They are not part of the screening program, People’s Choice, or Filmmaker’s Choice.
Submit the highest quality screener available. For best results, upload via FilmFreeway as an MP4 or MOV file, minimum 1920×1080 resolution, with clear and synced audio. The screener link must not require a download and must remain active through the notification date.
If your screener link or password changes after submission, update it on FilmFreeway immediately. A dead or inaccessible link means your film may not be reviewed.
Valid proof must be uploaded at the time of submission.
- Student Film: valid student ID from either the director or producer
- Young Filmmaker / 18 & Below: valid government-issued ID from either the director or producer
Submissions without the required proof will be considered incomplete, will not be evaluated, and fees will not be refunded.
Waivers are considered selectively and based on individual situations. They are not guaranteed and are not an indication of selection. All fees are non-refundable once paid. Contact info@fftgawards.com directly.

Selection Process
Every submission is reviewed in full. Initial evaluations are carried out by We, The Chosen Ones®, followed by final curation of selections, nominations, and awards by FFTG management. Selection is based on storytelling, craft, and resonance. FFTG does not fill slots to meet quotas. Final decisions rest with the Festival Director.
We, The Chosen Ones® (WTCO®) is the invitation-only jury of FFTG Awards Film Fest®. An invited group of 6 to 9 filmmakers who have previously been recognized by FFTG, they contribute to the evaluation process and help shape future editions. Every year, the group is curated for international diversity and independent perspective. Being evaluated by peers — not strangers — is core to what makes FFTG different.
No. Due to volume, jury feedback and programming comments are not shared with individual filmmakers. Selection committee decisions are final.
Official Selection
Official Selection marks the entry point into FFTG. The film becomes part of the festival’s ecosystem and moves forward into consideration for nominations and awards. It is a permanent record, not a temporary listing.
Official laurel, high-resolution digital certificate signed by the Festival Director, eligibility for all jury-led nominations and awards, a permanent dedicated film page on fftgawards.com, filmmaker interview opportunity, social platform promotion, YouTube highlights, and access to all Filmmaker Benefits.
Laurels are delivered digitally after the Official Selection announcement. You may use them on your film’s poster, social media, website, festival trailer, streaming thumbnail, and any promotional material related to your film. There is no expiration. Once earned, they are yours.
Filmmakers are invited to provide materials for presentation, showcase, and related features — including a high-resolution still, director headshot, short biography, synopsis, and if available, a film poster. Filmmakers must confirm participation by the given deadline, otherwise they may lose their spot in the lineup.
Yes. Email info@fftgawards.com from your original submission address with your film’s FFTG page link and full names and credited roles of those requesting certificates.
Screenings & Showcase
No. Screening is optional. Filmmakers who prefer not to screen due to premiere strategy, prior commitments, or other festival considerations may request to opt out.
Selected films may be included in FFTG’s curated, time-bound online showcase, presented globally through a secure platform (SparqFest) during the official screening window, November 29 to December 13, 2026 (Pacific Time). Films are stream-only. No downloads. Content is not stored or archived beyond the screening period. Access is time-bound and controlled.
FFTG uses a secure, password-protected digital screening environment with content protection measures designed to prevent unauthorized downloading, copying, or redistribution. Screeners are never made publicly available. Access is restricted to verified viewers during the festival window. Your submitted screener file remains untouched throughout.
The film remains eligible for all jury-based recognition. Opting out only affects eligibility for the two audience-voted awards (People’s Choice and Filmmaker’s Choice).
People’s Choice is determined by audience votes cast during the festival screening window (Nov 29 – Dec 13, 2026). All screened Official Selections are eligible. Winner announced December 21, 2026.
Filmmaker’s Choice is determined exclusively by filmmakers in the current Official Selection, voting on each other’s work. Winner announced December 21, 2026.
Both awards are decided purely by votes — genre, runtime, format, and category have no bearing on the outcome.
Awards & Recognition
FFTG runs two distinct award tracks. Grand Jury Choice awards and category recognitions are determined through jury evaluations and final curation by FFTG management. People’s Choice and Filmmaker’s Choice are determined through audience and filmmaker voting during the screening window. Grand Jury Choice winners are announced December 22 to January 1, 2027.
There is no fixed number of nominations per film. Nominations are awarded only where merit is identified — based on storytelling, craft, execution, and impact — not on how many categories were entered or fees paid. A film may receive none, one, or multiple nominations. Each represents independent recognition.
FFTG focuses on recognition, visibility, and long-term positioning. Partner tools and resources are offered to support the filmmaking process, not as financial rewards.
Official laurels, digital certificates, and recognition across FFTG platforms. Select top categories receive statuettes. Winners also receive permanent access to write on the FFTG blog and ongoing social promotion.
Partner award licenses are distributed within 10 days after the festival edition concludes. Licenses must be activated within 4 weeks from the date of issue. If you miss the window, contact info@fftgawards.com from your original submission address with your film’s FFTG page link. Late activations are reviewed case by case.
No. Any visibility or opportunity that arises from FFTG recognition happens independently and organically. FFTG does not guarantee meetings, representation, funding, or specific industry outcomes.
Statuettes
Statuettes are awarded for select top categories including Film of the Fest, People’s Choice, and Filmmaker’s Choice. Additional statuettes can be arranged. Contact info@fftgawards.com for details.
FFTG statuettes are custom-crafted by Society Awards — the same manufacturers behind the Emmy, Golden Globe, MTV, BET, and Billboard Music Awards trophies. The statuette carries the film title and director’s name engraved on it. They are produced and shipped globally. Delivery can be coordinated based on location.
AI-Generated Films (New 2026)
A film qualifies for the AI-Generated Film category if artificial intelligence was used as a primary creative tool in generating visual content, audio content, or both. This includes films where AI models generated imagery, voice, animation, or music as a core part of production. Films that used AI only as an assist tool in post-production (noise reduction, upscaling, color grading) do not qualify for this category and should be submitted in their appropriate format category.
Yes. If your film used AI-generated elements in any meaningful capacity — visuals, voice synthesis, AI-written dialogue, AI-composed music — disclose this in your submission notes on FilmFreeway. FFTG values transparency. Non-disclosure of significant AI involvement may affect eligibility if discovered after selection.
IMDB & Recognition
Yes. FFTG Awards Film Fest® is listed on IMDb’s official events database as an IMDb-qualifying festival. Award wins and nominations from FFTG may be credited on IMDb subject to IMDb’s contribution guidelines and approval process.
Yes. Filmmakers update their own IMDb pages. Based on FFTG’s IMDb-qualifying status, you may submit award wins, nominations, your film’s title page, cast and crew credits, release information, and posters to IMDb. Your film’s listing on fftgawards.com serves as a public reference source when submitting. All listings are reviewed and approved solely by IMDb. See IMDb’s Contribution Guidelines for the process.
Certificates can be issued for key contributors. Email info@fftgawards.com from your original submission address with your film’s FFTG page link and the full names and credited roles of those requesting certificates.
Distribution
FFTG is not a distribution platform. Selection, nomination, and awards contribute to a film’s visibility, credibility, and future opportunities. FFTG explores distribution possibilities through partner channels on a best-effort basis, with no guarantees. Films are not stored after the festival window.
Yes. Films with existing distribution agreements are eligible. If your distribution contract includes territorial or temporal screening restrictions, contact FFTG after selection so those terms can be factored into the screening plan.
Resubmissions & Support
Yes, especially if the film has evolved or is being repositioned. Each edition evaluates films on their own merit. A previous submission to FFTG does not prevent resubmission in a future edition.
Withdrawn films are treated as disqualified. Submission fees are non-refundable. Do not submit unless you are committed to completing the process.
No. Submitting to FFTG does not transfer any ownership, distribution rights, or intellectual property to FFTG or Dot & Feather Entertainment LLC. FFTG holds a limited, non-exclusive license to screen your film during the festival window and to use approved promotional materials (poster, stills, synopsis, trailer clips under 60 seconds) for festival marketing. You retain full ownership of your work at all times.
FFTG collects only the information necessary to process your submission and administer the festival. Your personal data is not sold to third parties. Submission data collected on FilmFreeway is also subject to FilmFreeway’s own privacy policy.
Via the website contact section or at info@fftgawards.com. For all post-selection matters including certificate requests, YouTube removal, or license activation, always email from your original submission address and include your film’s FFTG page link. This ensures the fastest response.
Going Deeper
Story. A film that connects, stays, and feels necessary.
The focus is on what happens after a film is seen. Recognition continues beyond the moment. Where films and filmmakers live on.
