Majid Asadi

Majid Asadi (b. June 29, 1988, Tehran) is an Iranian director, actor, and theater artist. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Directing from Nabi Akram University of Tabriz (UCNA) (2007–2011) and has been a permanent member of Balloon Theater Group since 2016.
His short film Brother’s Horn has been officially selected at more than 40 international festivals. At the FFTG Awards Film Fest 2024, it received:
– Winner – Short40 Category
– Winner – Best Supporting Actor (Amin Esfandiar)
– Nominations – Best Actor (Iman Sayad Borhani), Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best Concept, Best Writing (Film Page on FFTG)
His theater credits include:
– BLUR (dir. Mohammad Berahmani) at the 43rd Fajr International Theater Festival and Art Palace Nofel Loshato (2024)
– Play Strindberg (dir. Mohammadreza Maleki) at Iranshahr Theater (2025)
– Fourteen (Tehran Edition) (dir. Rashad Moeini) at Tehran City Theater (2025)
– Confusion (dirs. Iman Sayad Borhani & Pooya Sadeghi) at Hafez Hall and the 34th Fajr Festival (2016)
His screen work includes Stone Man (2025, dir. Alireza Shakeri), King (2024, dir. Shiva Sarmast), Private Town (2018, dir. Hamid Bab Al-Hawaeji), My Tehran (2017, dir. Khashayar Gholami), and Invasion (2017, dir. Shahram Mokri).
Majid has also directed stage productions such as Sure Thing (finalist at the Iran University Theater Festival and 2nd Place Director at the 4th Omid Festival, 2012). He was assistant director on Antigone (dir. Homayoun Ghanizadeh), staged in Estonia and Iran. His interdisciplinary work has been presented at Ivan Gallery and Nagar Gallery (2020).
He has now been invited as a Grand Jury Member of FFTG Awards Film Fest 2025 under We, The Chosen One’s®, the invitation-only international jury curated from FFTG’s official slate of selections, nominees, and winners.
